From OSHA to building Skills to Survive as a Modern Manager
In many businesses, there are Owners, Managers, supervisors, Human Resources, etc. We all need rules, and there is no other way to put it.
However, we are now going from providing rules to giving advice on building skills to survive as a Modern Manager. Now a days, managers are under constant pressure because as time progresses, more technology is being used in many businesses. It can be very over whelming at times. For, example, Mcdonalds, a ling time, fast food chain, where it is known for its famous hamburgers (Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, Sausage and Egg McMuffin, etc) is changing their way of costumer service, and adding more responsibilities to managers.
Upon recently, McDonald's added new drinks to the McCafe line, which means that demand will be higher. However, as for managers, their jobs are not going to get any easier. In other words, the level of stress will be higher especially with the employees. Old managers may have had less technology to work with, in which many people would argue was a lot harder to work, however, being a modern manager is actually harder than it looks. Appearance wise, it may look like if work conditions would be easier; however, it is a lot harder.
First, one has to consider that with more technology, one will have more responsibility, because now demand will go up. Secondly, more demand means that one has to work harder to fulfills everyone's needs. The main point of this means that being manager in this time period is very complicated. It has always been, however, as mentioned before, demand has steadily risen to a point where one is working more harder than ever. The next couple of posts, will be discussed on skills that every modern manager must have in order to succeed in the workplace. This is to help managers in the same way OSHA provides help to employers on laws and regulations. To just show what I am up on about, here is a clip from YouTube discussing about Modern Management with Grovo VP of People, Joris Luijke.
